COVID-19 UPDATES

To Our Bark Town Clients:

We would like to thank all of you for your support and loyalty, during this unprecedented time. Your patience is appreciated, as we open back up and slowly work our way back to normal.

This is a difficult time for everyone.  Safety remains our highest priority here at Bark Town USA, and we are committed to following all of  the CDC and OSHA requirements and guidelines to protect the safety of our staff,  our clients, and of course the dogs against airborne germs like COVID-19.

This means that you will experience many new changes here at Bark Town USA,

along with new protocols that ensure we are in compliance with all these new requirements.

New Changes at Bark Town USA:

  • Health screening for staff before they begin their shift.

  • Staff is maintaining social distancing, and has proper PPE.

  • Staff is trained and certified in safe Covid -19 practices.

  • Staff are no longer sharing equipment (leashes, phones, pens, computers). We now have assigned daily duties and assigned daily equipment. All of which is sanitized at the end of each shift.

  • All Shared areas, surfaces, touch points and equipment are sanitized at intervals, ranging from every 15 minutes to hourly.

In addition to the above safety changes within our facility, we also have implemented the following:

[PLEASE READ THROUGH THESE CHANGES CAREFULLY]

All Services will require a scheduled appointment.

Daycare Service Changes:

  • Daycare Services will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is a temporary change. We expect to be able to return to our regular schedule shortly.

  • Scheduling Daycare services can be made via phone reservations. You will be able to schedule your dog for a single day, or multiple days, up to one month at a time.

  • Daycare Arrivals & Departures May be anytime between 7am - 7pm

  • We have a new intake kennel system that eliminates contact with our staff. You may enter the intake kennel from the ramp and exit by either the ramp or the stairs.

    • Watch a video of our new arrival and departure system below.

Daycare Arrival & Departure

  • Upon arrival, we ask that you put on a face mask before exiting your vehicle.

  • If there is already a client at the intake kennel, we ask that you wait at one of the paw print markers, or remain in your vehicle.

  • Once the client has cleared the intake kennel, you can proceed up the ramp.

  • Enter the intake kennel and close the gate latch securely (We do not want anyone running out!). Remove your dog's collar and leash. Place any food, treats, medications or things you want us to know in the red bin. (All food, treats and medications should be in a disposable bag with your dog's name clearly printed on the bag.)

  • We will no longer be storing your dogs leash and collar. You will take them with you at drop off. (Please don’t forget to bring them back.

  • Wait in the kennel away from the building door. Allow our staff to open the door to the building, and call your dog inside.

  • Once your dog is inside the facility, and our door is firmly closed, you may exit the intake kennel.

  • When it is time to pick up your dog, you will repeat this process following the same social distancing procedures. Please use the doorbell to alert us to your arrival. (Do not forget to bring your collar and leash)

We ask that any conversations with our staff be made via phone or email, to promote shorter wait times.

Daycare Pricing Changes:

Due to the fluid nature of the Covid-19 outbreak, we are unable to predict how our services may be impacted in the near future. (In the event that an employee or client has been diagnosed with Covid-19, current guidelines require a business to close from 24 to 72 hours for proper cleaning and sanitizing.)

In the interest of fairness to all of our clients, we have decided to lower our daily rate and temporarily discontinue our multiple day pre-paid passes.

Our New Daycare Daily Rate will be $30 per day (normal rate was $31 per day)

We will be invoicing daily for single days of daycare or a single week’s worth of reservations may be purchased in advance.

All pre-paid passes bought prior to our Covid-19 closure will be honored upon reopening.

We will still be offering our multi-dog discounts for two or more dogs from the same household/family attending on the same day.

Daycare Payments:

  • Payments can be made by cash, check or charge.

If you have any questions regarding any of our new policies or procedures please feel free to send us an email at

info@barktownusa.com or call the facility at 517 548-9917

We appreciate your continued support and all of us here at Bark Town USA

are looking forward to seeing you and your pup!

Grooming Service Changes:

*Due to the extent of time grooming services have been suspended, along with our new social distancing and sanitizing procedures, your dogs grooming may take longer that usual.  Please allow for additional time in your schedule when booking your appointment.

Walk in Grooming services will require scheduled appointments, with a scheduled drop-off time.

Please do your best to arrive on time to your appointment.

If you arrive early, please remain in your vehicle until your scheduled time, or a staff member signals you to bring your dog to the intake kennel.

This will be very important to properly maintain our schedule, as we are currently very busy and must maintain proper social distancing.
